DOG owners are living in fear of losing their beloved pets to criminal gangs after thefts spiralled in lockdown, a Mirror probe reveals.

Owners have told how they received menacing ransom demands after their dogs were snatched – one man was told his chihuahua Molly’s throat would be cut if he failed to pay a £1,000 ransom.
